Michael 'MJ' Bernstein (Chicago, IL) won the $1k No Limit event here during the 2009 Borgata Winter Open, taking home almost $150,000.
Between 2001 and 2010, MJ was a regular on the east coast poker circuit, (he doesn't fly, so has to drive to his poker destinations) winning an NAPT event at Mohegan Sun in early 2010. After amassing over $300,000 in tournament earnings, he dropped off the poker radar for over a year.
Michael 'MJ' Bernstein
He surprised us all when he turned up for the Borgata Spring Poker Open this year after his long absence. He's back on the poker tour and ready to play. With three final tables and one win since February, the time away from the felt hasn't hurt his game.
MJ cashed in event #4, $400 Big Stack No Limit, and was going to play the main event, but was in a pretty bad accident last Monday and was in no shape to play. He's playing in this event now, along with 919 other hopefuls.
He'll be back for the Summer Open in June and ready to make another run for his second Borgata Open title.
* Update: MJ played into the wee hours of the morning, eventually finishing in 12th place for $1,820.
He's not here, correct? what's the relevance of posting about someone not playing while you have a great championship event going on, and another event with very little coverage. Please tell us about what's going on at Borgata.
