WSOP bracelet holder Brian Lemke (Norristown, PA) says it's been a slow and steady climb to the dinner break chip lead with 420k. "I got a guy to call off with king high, but I was on a flush draw," he says laughing.
Lemke was holding 5♦ 4♦ in a 100k chip pot and was looking for a river diamond, but was pleasantly surprised to pair his four to win the hand. "That's the one that got me going," he says as his stack went from 150k to 200k.
Since winning his 2009 bracelet and amassing $1 million in career tournament earnings, Lemke has been laying low. "Family stuff," he says about all the traveling he's done with his lacrosse playing sons.
Lemke's looking at playing in Day 2 of this event Thursday and is "definitely playing the main," and any event he can squeeze in on a weekday.
